    The WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest takes flight in Fuquay-Varina on Memorial Day weekend with extra “lift” for its second year. The family friendly festival will feature 35 hot air balloons, more than 20 hours of live music, military equipment and interactive displays, dozens of food vendors, 40,000 square feet of vintage amusement rides, a craft beer and wine garden, and the Merchant, Arts & Crafts Village.

    The festival will officially open at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 27 and run through Memorial Day weekend. There will be an opening ceremony with a dedication of the Field of Flags memorial space. Please join us Memorial Day weekend for an event to honor and celebrate the sacrifice of our military personnel and their families.

    There will be no onsite parking is available at Fleming Loop Park. Shuttles will be available for transportation from off-site parking lots to the event.
