Felix the cat, is a wonderful, wonderful cat! Felix is a stunning white color with creamy orange accents and big golden eyes! He’s a young boy who will fill your world with fun and wonder as he grows into a handsome adult feline. He loves to play with toys, and is very curious! He would do great in any home that offers him lots of love and play time!

Adoption fees for dogs and puppies typically range from $100-$175, which includes a basic medical exam, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check, heartworm test and deworming.

Thanks to our sponsors, new owners of each adopted featured pet will receive a complimentary first wellness visit from Park Vet Hospital and a free full day of camp at Camp Bow Wow. 


The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR WALK FOR THE ANIMALS

Head over to Duke’s East Campus for a one-and-a-half-mile morning walk with your furry companion and raise funds to help provide a safe, clean shelter and medical care for the animals at Animal Protection Society of Durham. There will be pet contests, more than 50 vendors, a kids’ zone, food trucks and more.

This is one of the largest fundraising events for the shelter, and last year more than 500 walkers, canine companions and supporters attended and raised more than $80,000 to support APS! Register today!
