And now here’s a chance to impress your lover: Get a reservation at one of these restaurants and take advantage of their special Valentine’s Day meal(s). Here is a great list of places to woo your loved one this year.


Durham

The Restaurant at The Durham Hotel

On Sunday, Feb. 14, celebrate with a three-course tasting menu dinner featuring Cape Hatteras oysters, black truffles, dry-aged grass-fed beef, local vegetables and baked Alaska for two. Dinner is $55 a person and wine pairings are available.

Counting House at 21c

Counting House is offering three nights of special romantic dinners, prepared by Chef Josh Munchel, happening Feb 12-14. Enjoy an à la carte menu featuring Counting House favorites and specials like the 30-day dry-aged, rib-eye with smoked yolk, oyster mushrooms and ox tail marmalade, or foie gras hot & cold with pears, citrus and caramelized whey. Parizade

Enjoy Mediterranean flavors, delicious specials, cocktails and more all week long at Cafe Parizade. For this weekend only, dinner service will begin at 5pm every night! Happening from Feb. 12-14. Call 919-286-9712 for reservations.

Fairview Dining Room at Washington Duke Inn

On Sunday, Feb. 14, from 10:30am–10pm, the inn will host brunch, afternoon tea and dinner with cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Jason Cunningham. Start the day with weekend brunch, featuring classics such as eggs Benedict, French toast, crab cakes and more. Served from 10:30am-2pm (price varies). Following brunch, afternoon tea is a time-honored tradition, featuring an assortment of savories and scones, a decadent dessert table and delicious teas. Served from 1:30 to 4pm ($35 per person). Then indulge in a four-course menu created with lovebirds in mind. Dinner features amuse-bouche, choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert. Enjoy chocolate-covered strawberries as a special late night treat. Served from 5 to 10pm ($75 per person). In addition to the Valentine’s Day dining events, guests are invited to turn a romantic day into an even more romantic evening with an overnight getaway at Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. Triangle Seafood

Enjoy a four-course menu for this romantic occasion, offered Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13. They’re offering everything from red snapper to grilled angus steak, and topping it off with a delicious red velvet cake. Call 919-956-7360 for reservations.

Primal Food & Spirits

Take advantage of the locally sourced food at Primal for Valentine’s Day. This restaurant is offering both brunch and dinner on Sunday, Feb. 14. Dinner includes a three-course meal for the fixed price of $55. Call 919-248-3000 for reservations.

Guglhupf

Guglhupf will offer their famous Sacher Torte, petit fours and the St. Honoré, a classic French pastry. These specialties are only available for the week of Valentine’s Day, so order online or by phone, and place your order by February 11. Dashi

Cozy up in the izakaya for a memorable 5-course meal in celebration of Valentine’s Day and are now taking reservations for seatings from 5 to 9pm on Saturday the 13th. Call 919-251-9335 for reservations.

Mesa Latin Kitchen

Grab an early bird dinner on Valentine’s Sunday from 4:00 – 5:30 pm, or come after 6:00 pm to enjoy some live music. They’re offering sweetheart specials for both Saturday Feb. 13 and Sunday Feb. 14th starting at 4:00 pm. Call (919) 973-2717 for reservations.

Chapel Hill

Southern Season

Southern Season’s Weathervane restaurant in Chapel Hill, N.C., and Southerly restaurant in Charleston, S.C., and Richmond, Va., will be offering a Three Course Prix Fixe Menu on Saturday Feb. 13th and Sunday Feb. 14th, featuring locally sourced ingredients and artisan selections. The Prix Fixe Menu is $54 per person with a $15 wine pairing option. Reservations are not required but strongly recommended.

Or bring your special someone to Southern Season for a hands-on Valentine’s Day Brunch cooking class where you’ll enjoy delicious food including Gruyere soufflé, Bourbon praline French toast with sage sausage, lemon bars, chocolate-covered strawberries and more.

The Root Cellar

On Friday, Feb. 12, beginning at 6:30pm, The Root Cellar is offering a special farm dinner for Valentine’s. The menu includes boudin balls with pickled onions and beer mustard, oyster pie, Creole seafood jambalaya, red beans and rice, maque choux and bananas foster. Call 919-967-3663 for reservations.

La Residence

This chic place is offering a special aphrodisiac menu Feb. 13-14. The early/late special is priced at $49 per person (runs 5-6:15pm and from 9-10pm), and the regular fixed price is $59 per person (runs from 6:30-8:30pm). The menu includes everything from baked brie and classic lobster bisque to black Angus filet mignon and sweetheart tiramisu. Call 919-967-2506 for reservations.

The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel

On Saturday evening, Feb. 13, head to The Parlour to celebrate love with a special five-course dinner brought to you by Chef Beau Bennett from Beau Catering. Each meal has been thoughtfully paired with wines by Anna Lange, owner of Vino!! Wine Shop in Pittsboro and gourmet confections by Randi Smith, owner of Sugar Euphoria. Fall in love with the sweet notes of immensely talented Jazz singer, Jo Gore while celebrating over dinner in this charming vintage chapel.

Kipos Greek Taverna

Bin 54 Steak & Cellar

Hillsborough

Antonia’s

On Sunday, Feb. 14, they’ll host a white-tablecloth, three-course, fixed-price dinner with two seatings; the first between 5pm and 6pm, the latter between 7:30pm and 8:30pm. The cost will be $55 per person plus tax and gratuity and will include a glass of Prosecco. They will also run Valentine’s-themed specials, including housemade, heart-shaped ravioli on Saturday, Feb. 13, (along with their regular dinner menu) for those who cannot make it out on Sunday.
